What is an EPC for?

Every domestic property needs to have a valid EPC within 28 days of being put on the market, even if it is being sold privately. The better the rating, the more attractive the premises will look to potential buyers.

Energy Performance Certificates
What? Why? How?
All domestic properties in England and Wales need an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) if the property is to be sold, rented or an application is to be made for a domestic RHI grant. An EPC is performed by a Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA). The EPC shows the expected costs of heating, hot water and lighting of a property for any future owners or tenants. It also shows how energy-efficient a property is and how you can improve the rating and reduce your energy bills and save money. An EPC is valid for 10 years providing the building has not been modified. For heat pumps the EPC needs to be under two years old. Procedure
I come to the property to assess it. The information gathered is then processed to produce a draft EPC.
Payment
After the survey at the property the draft EPC and invoice are emailed to you. Upon receipt of payment the EPC is lodged and the final certificate is then emailed straight over.
No Hidden Costs
The first 30 miles are included in the price. Further away it is 25p/mile. No VAT, includes lodging fees and public liability insurance, no other/hidden costs.
